Free Apps to Save you Money

We all want to keep a little extra jingle in our pockets!  All apps are available on iPhone and Android devices. I know there are a few apps in here I use all the time because of their reliability and user driven information.   This first one is my FAVORITE!

GasBuddy: Find Cheap Fuel

Gas Buddy AppsReport prices, leave and read station reviews, complete fun challenges and win gas cards in giveaways. All in one convenient app. GasBuddy gives you a gas price map which you can select the type of fuel and then see the prices around the area to save you from filling up at the most expensive location.  Today, regular prices around my zip code range from $2.09 to $2.45 and diesel prices $2.29 to $2.79.  If you are fueling up your 100-gallon diesel tank, that is a $50 savings.  What are you going to do with the money you are saving?  My suggestion, hire yourself a bookkeeper who might know a thing about doing the small things to make a huge impact on your bottom line.

Waze

Waze AppsGet the best route, every day, with real–time help from other drivers. Waze is the world’s largest community-based traffic and navigation app. Join other drivers in your area who share real-time traffic and road info, saving everyone time and gas money on their daily commute.  Not only get real time data for traveling around the area, but can get an automatic reroute to keep you from sitting in traffic losing precious hours of service time.  Time is money when you own your own business!   Only downside is that it doesn’t calculate long trips very well.

Audiobooks

Audiobooks AppsAudiobooks.com is the best free audiobook app to download and instantly stream more than 100,000 premium audiobooks. Everything you need is right within the app: claim credits on titles, access your audio book wish list, view your library, and play your audio books without ever having to visit the website. They add hundreds of new books every week, and your first premium audiobook is free! Plus, there is a library of 7,000 free audio titles for everyone to enjoy.  So, what does reading/listening to books have to do with your business?  The most successful CEOs read an average of 60 books a year!  What are you doing to work ON your business versus in your business on your commutes?

MyFitness Pal

My Fitness Pal AppsLose weight the healthy way.  Medical studies prove that the best way to lose weight and keep it off is to simply keep track of the foods you eat. Gimmicky machines and fad diets don’t work.  MyFitness Pal designed a free website and mobile apps that make calorie counting and food tracking easy.  Web and mobile apps sync automatically, so your diary is always up to date.  You may not think you need this app, but if you think you may need to get healthier this is a great app. And did you know that a 2015 study by the University of Michigan found the average health care cost for a healthy employee was roughly $3,000, and roughly $10,000 for an employee with at least one medical condition.  It might not cost you this today, but what will you eventually be paying?

Truckstop mobile

Truckstop Mobile Apps

Truckstop.com Mobile is a simple way to find loads that pay. Post your truck and find loads in real-time with the industry’s most active load board.  Simplify communication through in-app messaging and automatic check calls.  Share documents with one click including rate confirmations, proof of deliveries, bills of lading, load photos and even accessorial fee receipts – simply take a picture and upload it.  Keep invoice data at your fingertips and in one centralized location for 90 days.  Post your truck and search for loads in your favorite lanes.
Note: To search for loads you must have an active Truckstop.com account.  When you are managing your loads and business, you can be sure to stay in the driver’s seat and keep those wheels turning to make you revenue.

Raise.com

Raise dot com AppsThe Raise app makes saving money easier than ever before, with discounted gift cards from thousands of brands that you can spend directly from your phone! On Raise, you can buy and use gift cards on the go, while leaving your plastic safe and secure at home. It’s the faster, simpler way to pay and save.  I know you are going to ask, but I’m spending money on this one how is this saving me money.  You have to spend money on things you need, why not save some money by getting a discounted gift card then making the purchase?  Additionally, if you are given a card you don’t anticipate using, you can sell it on the same app.

  1. Heya outstanding blog! Does running a blog such as this require a
great deal of work? I have virtually no expertise in programming but I was hoping to start my own blog in the near future.
Anyways, should you have any ideas or tips for new blog owners please share.
I know this is off subject however I simply needed to ask.

    Thanks!

    1. If you have a passion for the subject you will find it enjoyable. Yes it takes time from idea to creation and editing, but overall giving back is important.

  2. Hurrah! Finally I got a weblog from where I know
how to actually get useful facts regarding my study
    and knowledge.

  3. I’m really impressed along with your writing skills and also with the layout to your weblog.
Is this a paid subject matter or did you customize it your self?

Either way stay up the nice quality writing, it’s rare to
peer a great weblog like this one nowadays..

  4. I am not sure where you’re getting your information, however great topic.
I needs to spend a while finding out more or figuring out more.
Thanks for magnificent info I used to be looking for this information for my mission.

  5. Hi there, thanks for the great tips by the way.
However, I do have a question that I think you could answer for
me. I was wondering can you compare Xero, Bookkeeper,
AccountEdge, and Kashoo? If you could give me some insight I would greatly appreciate it!

    1. Thank you! As I am certified in Xero and QuickBooks Online, I don’t feel like I could provide an unbiased answer. Each person has things they love about various software platforms. It is like comparing a Ford to a Chevy to a Toyota and to a Nissan. All have varying features that are appealing to different people for different reasons, however all presumably will get you to your destination.
